This particularly handsome example of a New Hampshire spider leg candle stand became popular around the end of the 18th Century. The tripod stand has a finely tuned shaft, and the desirable top features characteristic Hepplewhite rounded corners. Mortise and tenon attachment of the well formed spider feet typifies furniture crafted by the Dunlap family.
